Example of Classroom Newsletter
I designed a weekly classroom newsletter to strengthen communication between school and home. This newsletter is sent both digitally and in print to ensure accessibility for all families. Each edition includes learning updates outlining what students are exploring in each subject area, a section for important upcoming school dates, and a "Note from Ms. Z" for additional classroom announcements or reminders. The "At Home Practice" section provides families with simple activities to reinforce learning beyond the classroom. The newsletter's theme can be adapted seasonally or for holidays to maintain student and family engagement while keeping communication clear, consistent, and inviting.
Bitmoji Classroom
I created a Bitmoji classroom to serve as a centralized online hub for students and families. This virtual space houses all important classroom links, including access to learning platforms, instructional resources, interactive educational games, and digital books for listening and read-along practice. This classroom layout helps students navigate online learning independently while maintaining a sense of familiarity and connection to our physical classroom. The theme and decorations can be updated seasonally or for holidays to keep the environment fresh, welcoming, and motivating for students.
Division Dragon - Math Anchor Chart
This anchor chart is part of a larger math theme in which each math concept is represented by a "math villain" that students must defeat using their new learning. The Division Dragon chart is built collaboratively with students over the course of the division unit. Each day, new strategies, vocabulary, and examples are added during lessons, allowing the chart to grow alongside student understanding. Students regularly reference the chart as a visual support to reinforce concepts, apply strategies independently, and build confidence in division skills.
Types of Lines - Math Anchor Chart
This anchor chart introduces six different types of lines using clear definitions paired with simple visual examples. The chart is fully color-coded to enhance organization, support visual learners, and improve recall. Students use this chart as a reference during math lessons and independent work to accurately identify and apply all line types.
Parts of Speech - ELA Anchor Chart
This anchor chart provides a comprehensive overview of the nine parts of speech using modeled examples. The consistent use of color-coding supports pattern recognition and helps students make connections across concepts. This chart serves as an ongoing reference tool for students during reading and writing activities, reinforcing grammatical understanding and independent application.
