Additional Experience

During my summer camp experience, I had the opportunity to plan, lead, and assist with a variety of engaging camps for children ranging from preschool through age 13. I have independently planned and led several themed camps, including Movin' to the Music, Fantasy Fairytale, Kindergarten Safety, Nature Discovery, and Sweet Treats. Each camp provided a unique opportunity to design creative, hands-on activities that promoted learning, teamwork, and fun. Through these experiences, I strengthened my leadership and classroom management skills, gained confidence in organizing and facilitating large groups, and deepened my understanding of how to create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children of all ages.

During my time in the Teaching Professions Academy in high school, I had the opportunity to leave school early each day to complete field placements in 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade classrooms within my district. Through these experiences, I observed a variety of teaching styles, interacted with students, and took my first step in planning and leading lessons. With guidance from my mentor teachers, I created math review games, grammar lessons, book club activities, and even helped organize after-school game nights. This program allowed me to gain early, hands-on experience in the classroom and confirmed my passion for teaching. After graduating from both high school and this program, I felt confident and well-prepared to pursue my degree in education and continue developing as a future educator.

During my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to teach dance at the studio where I grew up training. Being invited to assist with classes allowed me to combine my passion for dance with my love of teaching. I helped lead warm-ups, guide choreography, and support younger dancers as they built confidence and improved their technique. This experience gave me a new perspective on teaching, one that blends creativity, discipline, and encourgament. It reinforced my desire to inspire students both in the classroom and beyond. In the future, I hope to continue to teach dance alongside my career path in education.
